Electric Car News

In this post I just wanted to share with you a few pictures of electric cars I saw at the Canberra International Electric Vehicle Festival that took place on the weekend of 24-25 September.

It was interesting to discover electric cars that could go actually pretty fast but being very quiet. In the picture below you can see an electric Tesla Roadster Sport taking a full charge before an on-road demo.

It’s amazing to notice how quiet the electric engine of the Tesla Roadster Sport operates, you can hardly hear it coming:

According to the specs the Tesla Roadster Sport boast incredible performances for an electric car:
  • 288 hp (215 kW) at 4,400-6,000 rpm
  • Max rpm 14,000 rpm
  • 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds
  • Top speed 200 km/h (125 mph)
  • 395 km per charge
  • 0 tailpipe emissions!

Electric car conversion

Other nice attractions were to see and touch electric engines that power old and new cars. We saw some great jobs in electric car conversion. With the hood down you wouldn’t know it’s an electric car.
